Default New Eiger (Nice Ride)

Picked up my wife's new Eiger auto 4x4 tonight...
Started the break in process... the atv seams like it's well balanced and has nice low end...
More to come...

On a side note I was supposed to pick up my new ride (04 p700)also but the wheels and tires won't be in till the morning.
I guess I can wait one more day untill the fun begins...

Any tips/advice about either machine would be greatly appreciated...

Later~

Welcome,
I have the same Eiger configuration as you folks. I bought the 400 so I could use it and my children could ride it. Middle of the road so I could avoid buying 2. Good runner. Add a inline fuel filter right away as this has been a concern from the outset. Simple little deal. Cut the line from the tank to carb and add it. My Idle was a bit low upon receipt and I bumped it up a bit. Short of that it has been a fun toy that does alot of chores for me

Howdy,
No problem, Glad to help. From what I had heard there is debris in the tank and it gets in the carb. I did mine at 15 miles. I got mine at Kragen's. It's a little 2" steel deal for about 3 bucks. I do however need to re-jet the carb since I keep and use the Eiger at 5500 feet. Seems to have a little flat spot off idle.

i have also found that these machines come lean and one of the kit's that have the airfilter and jetkit's really improve performance...also i keep my gas selector in the prime postion when i have it running this way it always has fuel then turn it to on when off

just to let you know the new eigers have a recall, on the petcok screw on the tank, make sure your dealer fixes this.

A good friend of mine has an 03 auto w/ a 2k pound winch, great bike. He has pulled a lot of ranchers out of some nasty holes, and some sport quads too. After I got tires on my rancher, I didnt have to have anyone pull me out.

the best place i have found is either the rear rack, or the storeage box in the rear. my idea is dont mount the plate at all it looks like cr@p.

LOL... I wonder if I can just leave the plate in the storage area w/ my tools and flashlight...

Hmmm!
