LT Restoration Update...
#11
im going over to this guys house today to pick up my bushings ill let you know, this guy lives like 5 blocks from me .im glad to see that ronnies takes care of their mail order business but dont walk in the door and order something,i ordered a 520 chain conversion kit for my street bike in april and got it in august. even after i went there mad times haggling them. They run a mail order from tower distributing in new ashford mass and if you deal with them directly you will get things even cheaper than at the store.I m also in the middle of restoring a 91 lt250 it will be interesting to see your guys's quads.take care good luck

well flyinhi...you wont see much if u came now...its just a pile of pieces in the corner...im waiting of prices of everything so i can figure out how much i can spend on painting/powdercoating...so far this is NOT going as planned...220$ in parts i could have got for about 150$,
234$ to rebuild the rear shock...and thats all i have done so far...not a good way to start a project by finding out how much money you have lost arleady...
Kdog...bushings do eliminate all those seals and everything...simply put the 2 bushings and the rod in, and your done...wheels bearings and shock bearings are the only bearings on my quad beacause you cant replace them with bushings...Sand i have no clue about, but i kno it destroys both bearings and bushings, and bushings are cheaper...

thanks lt2Fiddy,
they fit nice and snug, no slop after you remove bearings seals and caps with the washer. Tell me how you get the bearings out of the Aarms? I just had my arms powder coated and did not remove prior to powder coating. Now they are really in there ! LOL Hammer and socket or press or something? and your right sand bad for both so Ill go with the bushings to try something new. Do they feel better?look better? got any pics? just dont want to look dumb after spending alot of money on my quad dont want some crap on my quad!

well i figured i could update you all again...i have all my parts in finally, except for the rear Works shock. I took my old one in and they planned on rebuilding it, then they got it apart and told me to get the works because some parts are not replacable. They still want me to pay the 90 dollar bill for the old shock, so im goin to go in and order my shock and b!tch so i dont have to pay the bill...they didnt do what they told me they were going to do so i dont feel i should pay it. ANYWAYS...for the details...
- Sandblasting is going to be done by a high school shop class for free
- Paint is going to be done by a friend who owns paint shop...its going to have a ton of layers...
Parts i have got:
- Works quadstar rear shock ( coming soon )
- used 400ex front shocks
- 515 pc. polished bolt kit
- Renthal bars and Oury grips
- new nerf nets for dg nerfs
- New rear shock linkage bearings, every other bearing and bushing has been replaced
- EBC rear brake rotor
- axle had to have some welding work done
- fuel lines, wire loom, etc...
- Maybe a custom skid plate...dont know how i would mount it yet though...any ideas???
Doest seem like much, but i was on a budget and have already gone way over...i think it will be an awesome looking quad when done, the engine is bullet proofed already, new suspension, new paint...i think im set...to start savin for my 06 quadracer 450...hopefully...

yea i didnt even take my engine apart...i know i probably should have, but i REALLY didnt have the money, and i plan to get a 450 maybe next year so im not gonna put any more money into it...i should have around 3500 wrapped up in this thing after its all done. What you gotta think about...is that there are not many other quads out there that you can buy for 3500 bucks that will have as much power, handle as good, look as good, and be as custom as they are...you could get a somewhat modded 400ex, or a pretty much stock z400...but i feel this is better/just as good.
