Default This KQ low end/throttle thing

I too have rode the KQ and am not impressed with the bottom end.....They hyped the EFI to the moon as EFI is supposed to have superior throttle responce over a carb all through the powerband, this EFI system on the KQ should have throttle responce all over the 750 but it doesn't, It's definitely not dialed in right for some reason.....maybe the power programmer's will cure the problem............

I'm bumping this forward since I started this thread late last year - since then I've had a chance to ride a different King Quad. This second one had no throttle lag at all, very quick throttle response on the start and could spin out the wheels at any speed. Very large difference from the first KQ tested. Tells me that could be "good" and "bad" KQ's out there - or ones that are dialed in better than others. This dealer suggested a slightly hotter plug to help the low end.

Just may have to get me one of these.

I think if you look real good thru the various forums, you'll find that most KQ owners gripe about the 'doggy' feeling from an idle to wide open throttle, including me.I have 150 miles on mine now and I dont like the doggy feel it has from a dead stop, but once she gets to 7mph,it really takes off.I hope someone comes up with a fix for this.

Other than that, this is one of the most versatile 4x4 ATVs ever IMO.

My 650 cat had the sluggishness below 7 mph and was very inconsistent, sometimes it would take off like a bullet @ slow speeds, other times it seemed Doggy!
Installed the HL module and it takes off like a bullet everytime now!!!

Mabey a CDI or HL will make a module to fix mabey what is just a timing issue ???

My throtle response is instant, as is belt engagement, the problem is it bogs off idle to about 8 mph.

Mine is not what you'd refer to as a bog,it is just plain doggy until 7mph or so,than she really RIPs.

I think the timing is retarded from the factory and a performance CDI could do the trick?
