King Quad 700 vs. Kawasaki Prairie 700

I'm also in this situation. I'm almost decided on a KQ. The EFI, IRS, and overall good reviews have pretty much done it for me. On another forum I read the owner of a P650 saying he prefers the KQ as an overall package. Elevation changes will not be a problem, no rejetting. I also read you can get a Power Commander(?) module which will allow you to adjust the fuel delivered throughout the map which I assume will be great for adding pipes, air filters, etc.
Either one will be great. There are a lot of mods and info available on the P650/700, and I suspect the KQ will reach this level over the next year. Personally I think all the machines are headed towards EFI and IRS. I'm pretty sure I'll jump on this bandwagon now rather than later.

BigDozer66, did you have a Prarie before? If you did how do they compare? Also, how does the KQ compare to any of the other big bores, if you've had a chance to ride them on trails? It's very hard to get a good feel for a machine, and compare them when the only test ride you get, if any, is on parking lot pavement.
Thanks

I have both, well the p650 anyway, basically the same as the p700.
All depends on your style of riding. p700 is quicker, slides much easier and I think more maintenance due to the belt drive set up. King is almost as sporty, maybe even more sporty when it comes to fast trailriding. Ride is incredible and is much more stable than the p700 in off camber situations.. I know hard to believe but it is. This past weekend I was playing with them in a gravel pit and the prairie will be on its side before the king will
Less vibration on the King, and I think better ergo's.

I say go test them both like I did and decide for yourself. For me I went with the King Quad I like the EFI and IRS and I think that they are also very equal on useable power. My brother in law has the p700 and p650 and the King feels better ergo's and handles better we ride in all type of terrain from sand to snow and everything in-between. He even says that the next one will be a king unless something better comes out.
