Are you talking about the four bolts and nuts that hold the sprocket to the sprocket flange? Mine are bolts with lock nuts on the back.

ok i got one last question, it seems that ive just been running into one problem after another...well i got the axle off with the carrier still on it, and i can't figure out how to get that thing off! i have noticed some screw holes around the center of the carrier but the spacer seems to spin freely so i left them alone.i also found one c-clip on the right side but i think i was just to hold the brake holder on.so does anybody know how this thing comes off.o and my old bearing seemingly exploded in there since all that i found was the inside peice of one of them, so could this be affecting my getting it off ? i would really like th get this thing back on its feet so any help is great.

The axle comes out of the carrier to the right. The brake rotor flange is splined onto the axle and would have to be pressed off. Once the sprocket flange is off, you should be able to grab the right side of the axle, the brake side, and slide it out. It may need a little persuation, like with a hammer. Mine popped out with a few love taps. The outer bearing race is pressed into the axle carrier, and it sometimes will get a little rust on the inside race were it touchs the axle. Additionally, if the bearing came apart, parts of the bearing may be stuck in between the axle, the carrier, and the Center Collar, which you will find when you get the axle out. The Center Collar is a large spacer that goes into the carrier between the bearings. Few love taps is important because if you beat the end of the axle you can bend it, or damage the treads were the wheel hub goes on. Good luck.

thanks but that thing sure isn't sliding out. I've tried everything to get that thing off the axle. but i did notice that the outside peice of my bearing(all thats left of it) was stuck on the sprocket side of the carrier, and i couldn't get it out. If it was the same on the other side could this be what was keeping the carrier from coming off? and how could i get those things out of there?

Yes, that could be causing your hang-up. It could also be the Center Collar is rusted onto the axle, and the bearing carrier. There isn't much room between the three items, and if you through some bearing bits and pieces into the mix you got a mess. You may need to take it to a shop and ask them to press the axle out, or see if they have any ideas. Good luck.
