King quad wont run? need help asap..

Allright i got a 1996 Suzuki King quad, good bike when it ran..heres the problem..
You go to start the bike it won't start..
-Has spark, brand new plug
-Has gas
-Carb seems clean jets etc.
I dislike working on this bike over every other bike i ever had its too crammed up like my gsxr750 was..but anyways anyone got any idea if i spray starting fluid in the carb where air filter goes it will run for like 2 seconds and if i hold in thumb throttle it will rev high and it justs shuts off. I end up draining my battery everytime and end up using pull start..I pulled gas line off the carb and played with petcock and on every setting res.run.off no gas came out..there is another rubber line running from the petcock to this black box, is this some sort of a vacume that allows gas to flow at certain times? im stumped and need this bike for hunting..
also anyone with parts for this bike let me know...rear cv shaft...mud flaps, maybe front d-shaft let me know.

well if it run off of starting fluid then it mean you have a carb problem i would make sure the bowl if filling up with gas cuz it sounds like you defentiley ant getting any gas to the motor i see this happen a lot what you may think is a claen carb isnt..I work at a suzuki dealer ship i am a bike tech go throw all you gets with a fine pice of wire then blow them out with a air gun. but like i said it sounds like you float is messed up and no gas is going into the carb.. id start there first.. a good teat is take your fuel line of the carb and make sure gas is coming alot the fuel petocks can mess up.
Hope this help post back if you still have problems.

that line that you are talking about that goes to the fuel petcock should be hooked to the front of the carb it lets gas only flow when the engine is running they use a vacum operated fuel petcock if that line isnt hooked to engine vacum no gas will flow...

well, since posted i've yet to have time to work on i got a shed and i just pull it out and work on in daylight no garage and no room to move into the shed. So im limited to day light hours and the cold :[
I guess i will pull the carb again and go over it all again, is there any specfic way i can check if the float is not functioning correctly? i mean its not stuck and the little thing that the float push's up when the float rises isn't stuck. Alot of line's go to that carb. Worse come to worst ill take it to a guy i know he's ex head mechanic at suzuki shop locally and does work really cheap he will go over it and tell ya whats wrong and let ya choose if ya wanna pursue or not without a charge. Dealer here they charge you to tell ya whats wrong. I will note the plug is fouling i pulled it and had to clean it was a new plug too. After posting i realized the petcock was vacume controlled thats what i thought at first but wasn't sure. But if i hold the starter button in or turn it over with pull start as long as engine is turning over will it create vacume to make some fuel come out? the petcock wasn't broken so..
thanks everyone for the help, i used to hang out here way back in the day when i was into quads and bikes, we just got this utility now and im into trucks now too so ill be back though.
oh yea just re-read and that line off the petcock runs forward to the front of the bike and goes to a black box with some other lines coming over...i forget the name of it but i was told it might have something to do with the throttle..

Before you even bother getting into the carb, see if there is fuel coming to the carb at the fuel line. From your posts it seems like there is no fuel coming out of the line if you pull it off the carb. There's no point checking anything at the carb if there isn't any fuel getting there in the first place.
A few things you could do:
If you've got another fuel cell, or a tank of a bike that just drains straight out of the petcock, hook it to the carb with some fresh fuel and see if it will run(it may run poorly if there's a vacuum leak, but it should run).
I'm not sure how the system you have works, but if it needs vacuum to allow fuel to flow, get a vacuum pump, attach it to the line in front of the carb, and apply vacuum. Fuel should flow(if I understand this system correctly)
If you don't have a vacuum pump, if you're mechanically inclined, you can cheat with a long piece of vacuum hose hooked to your truck's vacuum source.
Hope this helps

Went out tinkered with it a bit today, i accidently confused the vaume line on the petcock with the fuel line and some gas went down the vacume line, i think im fine it just comes out a small hole in the front of the carb. near intake manifold, so if anything it would have went into the cylinder and burned up when i pulled plug and turned over none came out wasnt that much. I didn't have time to take carb completly off and diss-assemble so will try to get that tommorrow..
