Hey guys I need a honest unbiased opinion on what to get my 9 yr old son. He is about 5'3" and weights about 75 lbs. I want to buy him a ATV that will last him for at least a couple of years and be reliable, and easy to maintain. I am weighing heavily on the Honda Trx 250 due to the reliability, but I just got my girl a new '05 Z400 and would love to be able to go to the same dealership for parts and such. Please let me know from those of you who own them what the pro's and con's are to the bike. It will be his first quad and I really want to buy him something that is easy to ride and maintain.

im 13 and ride an LTZ250......they run really good.....highly recconmendded atv

 

I recommend the z250 also,it may take a little practice at first for him to get use to the auto-clutch,but once he does,he'll have a blast and will last him for years.

 

I am 28 yrs old, 5ft 9in and around 190. I have a z250 and love it I have mine piped and jetted but for the 80 acres of trails i ride on its perfect. he will eventually want to go faster but it is a very good quad. when he's ready just pipe and jet it or move him into the 400. my six year old son has a raptor 80 and will be moving into my 250 in a couple of years ,so I can get the 400 or something better then. As for reliablity I have had mine since june 2003 and never had a problem at all. Always starts even when its around 0 deg. out take a look at the pics to see some upgrades

Bought one for my daughter and she loves it! Her friend got the Honda 250 and she loves the fact that ours is MUCH faster!
