Default Need a FRAME for a vinson, and i have had no luck :(

i welded my vinny frame about 1 weeks ago or so, the welds seems to be fine, but for my piece of mind i just want a new frame. i found one that was cooked in a fire a 2004, but i cant find the ebay auction to even e-mail the guy. a new 2003-2005 it must be a minimum year of 2003, and they are about 900 bucks _+ a few dollars.

does anyone know a salvage area, have a wrecked vinny? or know of some place i can call to get a frame that is not tweaked.

v581

if anyone has any kind of info i really really would appriciate it.

If your frame is still square and have already gusseted the problems you might be better off than buying someone elses missadventure from a salvage yard etc... Measure off your frame and inspect the hell out of it, reassemble and ride is my advice. If you know a smart bodyman who knows how to measure automotive frames he can tell you how to do it properly. Goodluck

P.S. The burned frame is probably brittle and can have a catastrophic failure when stressed

I have to agree with Sliver...the burned frame will bring you more trouble than it's worth.

I tried restoring a Polaris that had burned...spent lots of time, got it running, broke it in HALF in a week without any jumping...big bummer

Vinson581,

I take it you don't want to spend $900 for a new one? I think Ronnies has them for $880 or there abouts. I'll keep an eye out though.
