Default LTZ250 in line fuel filter

I fitted one of these to my Lt and have a couple of questions:

The filter is not always full, is this normal?

Is the filter needed and is it a good idea to have one?

Are special sizes needed (I have the same size fitted to the kids LT80's) are can they restrict the power etc in any way?

My rappy didnt come with one, but i cut the fuel line going from the tank to the carbs, and added one. mine is always full, sometimes a little bubble at the top, its normal. i didnt notice a powerdifference at all, but i did notice using 87 octane on a stock motor DOES add hp

I do believe that there is a filter in the fuel petcock coming off of the tank that comes from the factory. I don't think that its a bad idea to add an inline filter, esp since its a two stroke. My recommendation is to clean out the fuel petcock( valve that adjusts fuel exn, off, reserve) and keep a close eye on the inline filter. A little air gap is good, this means that the fuel is moving rapidly into the cylender.

its a 4-stroke, stop calling the Z250 a LT, its not. a LT250 could SPANK a Z250

The front cover of the bikes handbook says LT-Z250.
