Default Holeshots or Holeshot XC's??

I got some Holeshots from my parents for Christmas for my Z250 and am taking them to the dealer tomorrow to get them mounted. Would I be better off paying the extra $35 (approx) to get the Holeshot XC's? I mostly do trail riding on dirt, but when I go to WV I'm riding in the stream beds with a bunch of rocks. The Holeshots are 2 ply fronts and 4 ply rears. The XC's are 4 ply fronts and 6 ply rears.

Id pay the extra money for a little insurance. Just in case. If you get a flat, it would cost more to get another tire than getting the higher ply and not getting a flat.

neither. Get the XCR's, their 6ply, front and back, low-profile, lower weight, and their designed for 4-strokes. their the best tire. i have em and they work mint.

I would go with the XCR's, but they are out of my price range. I think they would be about $60 more. Also the low profile sort of worries me, because I am guessing that since I'm not going to a larger rim size, then that will be lowering my ground clearance some.

The 21" fronts will make your steering quicker. It may end up twitchey. Plus, the standard Holeshots are made of softer rubber, and don't last very long.

I would go with 22" XC fronts, and 20" Holeshot H-D's in the rear, if I were an eastern trail rider. The H-D's are a little heavy however.

I ended up getting the XCR fronts because that is all they had in stock, and the backs are still the regular Holeshots. They had XCR rears but the guy was already working on mounting my Holeshots when I thought of asking if they had the XCR's. I took them out for a test ride already and I realized really quick I need to soften up my suspension. I was getting the crap beat out of me. They work good in mud as far as I can tell so far, but when I tried going there the stream that had a very soft sandy bottom I just ended up digging myself a big hole that I ended up having to lift my back end up and out of.
