Default lt230 axle

i have just about taken apart my whole axle to clean it and replace the bearings and sprockets. Now i have gotten everything off except the brake hub, and i cant get one of the bearings off unless that comes off. i heard somewhere that these hubs were welded on? if it is how am i gonna get these bearings swapped ? The sprocket hub came off no problem but this one is really being a pain. any help would be apreciated.

yeah the brake hub is pressed on permanent-like. don't try to remove it. is your bearing stuck on the axle? the axle should've slipped out of the bearing carrier, leaving the bearing inside the carrier. if it's stuck on the axle, you might have to cut it off or something.

yea there is a small bump keeping the bearing on there. I can get it off, but im scared ill damage the new one trying to put it on.i thought about just sanding down the bumb a little so it goes on easier but i don't want to mess anything up.

the old bearing has to come off the axle. there shouldn't be any 'bump' on the axle.
when you reassemble, you will press the new bearings and seals into the bearing carrier, then slide the axle in.

just try and file or sand the bump without changing the axle diameter if possible....the bearing doesnt spin on the axle anyway so you can get away with alot. ...Bill
