just intake is more of a low-mid boost, good for trail riding.and both is more high rpm power more for dunes and stuff.

About a month ago I added both hotcams, DRZe base gasket and valve springs. There is a very good top end power gain. It pulls harder through the gears and keeps reving. Not much of a change in low/mid power. Nice mod for the money IMO.

Most people that I hear of that only installed the intake cam wish they installed both cams.

If you dont know the DRZe base gasket is thinner. Bumps the compression up from ~11:1 to ~12:1. The valvespreings from the bike are also stiffer for higher rpm's (when I get the CDI).

Here are some prices that I paid-
-cams- $225 shiped
-valve springs- ~$9each
-base gasket- $8, you can use the stock one and drill out the rivets and take the spacers off each side. For $8 I just bought a new one from the bike
-Head gasket- ~$30.
-Rings/Hone- ~$60 I also installed new rings and had the Cyll honed since I had it apart.

I have the hotcams intake cam in mine. It gives you a noticable low and midrange gain. I noticed a huge gain when I added my pipe. I don't know if it had something to do with having the cam in or not. I'd say its worth it.

Yeah im thinkin i will put an intake cam in id like to put both but for $200 bucks a pop where i get them from by my place in Ontario thats alot of money. Is it any cheaper to order off somewhere good online and get them shipped or will it end up costing me the same? I have never ordered online and woundered if i shoudl go that way. I have herd about that DRZ gasket too and i think i will put that in as well. Witti, since that changes your compression will i have to change anything else like piston or rings?

You wont need to change the piston or rings. It is not a bad idea to put new rings on and hone the cyll. That is what I did since I had it all apart. The only thing you will have to dowith higher compression is run premium gas, 92 or higher.

The company I ordered them from was woodward specialties. The cams were normally $240, but I got them on sale for $225(shiped). It was the best price I found. Most places are $300 & up for the pair.

For the rest of the parts I went to the local dealer, I didnt shop around much.
