CableTech,

As everyone else has said, you're being feed S**T! Find a new Dealer... This weekend I was towing my 4 X 8 trailer on our trails looking for firewood and clearing deadfalls and was easly towing in excess of 1200lbs by the time I got back to camp. I did have to use low Range but for that load it is not a surprise. The previous weekend I was in North Florida helping a buddy clear some land and pulled 3 or 4 pine poles at a time of the size you described with no problem for nearly half a day...

My guess is you just got unlucky and had a bad belt, change it and put that quad back to work! :-)

Good Luck,

Hibrass

I've pulled two moose out of the bush about 6 miles and I also pull my 4'x8' wood ice fishing shack on the lake and I've had no problems with the belt. Also I'm running the 26" Bear Claws. You may have had a faulty belt on your unit.

What happened to the belt. Did you get to see it. Just strange that the belt pulls around a 600lb machine, but fails with a 120lb log. Boy you got ripped, could have gotten a belt for 30$.

I think it weighed more than 120 lbs, and the tow rating is for something with wheels, not a dead drag. I agree it should have been able to handle it, but I also think the dealers point is that with the increased traction of the new tires, something has to slip.Unfortunetly , it must have been the belt that slipped.
I learned the hard way over the years, that as you increase traction, the stress on the other stock parts, can do them in. They put those stock tires on, because it has a certain amount of grip, and the axles and trannys can deal with the traction. But if you increase traction, something else in the driveline is subjected to more load. And as you beef up those broken weak parts, something else gets over loaded. Problem is, as the weaker things get beefed up, more expensive things start to go. Theres a trade off with increased traction, the torque has to go somewhere, and the weakest link is usually what gets broke.
Im just guessing...but I think this was the point the dealer was making.
