that just means that thats the right mainjet if you leave the airbox lid on, if you take it off, you flow more air, which means you need a larger mainjet, and you will get more power. What size did your dealer give you? you might want to just get a full jet-kit. comes with everything you will ever need and instructions. comes with, main jets, needles, clips, piolits. its a real timesaver and increased performance.

 

it said 135 on the jet. My dad picked it up while i was at school so i didnt have any say-so which kinda sucks. I also wanted a filter airboxlid & k&n filter. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] arg

 

well I got the jet put in and stuff adjusted whatever....the guy i had fix it did it in an hour, so I didnt have to wait long to ride. It cost me $75 though. I ran it around, and i have a feeling the rich people neighborhood i live in is gonna hate me. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] O well they can whine about it all they want, I dont care. I personnally like hearing loud bikes go by. I think im gonna get the quiet core though.

 

I put an hmf on mine too. Yep, its loud, neighbors called the sheriff after my son and I took our first test run!!! The fields were too muddy so we dragged on our county road. And by the way, had smoke on 1rst startup on mine and my sons so thats common. However , ours came with a recommended 175 mikuni main jet and the stock jet was a 135. the stock jet on my 04 Z is a 130 i moved to a 135 so i could still run it with the airbox lid. I am thinking about going to a 170 or 175 and removing the lid & snorkel later on down the road. For now i will have to wait. I spent all my christmas money lol. What happened with that sheriff?

 

I just went out and checked......your right, I don't know what I was thinking, stock is 130. And heres quick story on sheriff....... About 9 weeks ago I had to fire an employee that worked with me. (I'm a supervisor at a construction comp) He became violent and threatened to kill me, we called police and reported it...... When the neighbor called on us, THE SAME SHERIFF that took the report from the death threat was dispatched!!! So it went very well, we just shot the s#@t for a few minutes about the work related event. I then explained I just installed 2 performance exaust systems on our quads my son and I got for christmas,the fields were to muddy to test them out and we couldn't wait. He understood, asked me to just keep them in the fields so the neighbor doesn't make him come out again,no big deal. We've had them on the road several times in the past with no problems,(stock),now thier LOUD,so I'm assuming thats the real reason he called since it was our very first "HMF" run.

 

hey sweet, you have a limited z too. What is the second quad you mentioned. Today i went riding with an old friend and unfortunatly every person i could possibly **** off in the neighborhood seemed to be out walking on the road around the lake lol. This pipe probably killed their ears when i rode past. I decided that if i was gonna get banned from riding in the neighborhood i may as well have fun doing it. I havent heard any complaints yet but i have a feeling i will get them. I am loving this power and the awesome sound though! i cant wait to get out to st. joe when it warms up. I love riding in the sand, and racing people.

 

Bought 2 Z400's at the same time, mines the limited, sons Z is yellow. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/img] And yep you'll be hearing from somebody soon.haha When my sons riding outside and I'm in the house the new pipe rattles the windows at times!!!!!

 

Well i at least try to keep it low in the gears so i dont make to much noise when im just crusin but yeah im sure i'll get chewed out by some old fart who soesnt appreciate a nice quad when he hears one lol.
