MY Vinson is a pile of crap
#1
My girlfriend has an 04 and the thing just seized up and it is out of warrenty. It ran out of oil due to a faulty genuine suzuki filter.
Now I have to pull out the paper weight of a motor and rebuild it. Is there any performance parts out there for this slouch?
It probably needs a new cam anyways. I don't think it needs to be bored/new piston but if there is a reasonably priced high comp piston we will probably get it.

Yea it's my quad and I blew it up! Can't believe there's no oil light or low oil shutoff.....I didn't even know it was losing oil b/c it was all caught in my skid plates! My warranty was up just last month! That was a very expensive ride last weekend! So if we gotta fix it n e ways, we should do it right! But are there performance parts available?

If you can show it was a defective, genuine filter that caused the failure, I would think Suzuki would cover it? At least the parts?
Couldn't hurt to ask.

Best of luck to you, and God's grace, as I hear Suzuki is a clan of tight fisted bastards when it comes to out of warrany "good will".
Why not 581 kit it? Shouldn't be TOO much more expensive since you'll need a new piston anyway (most likely).

here it is the complete info on what it entails
95mm piston 195$
Nikasil Cyclinder sleeve-275$
Cyclinder sleeve installation-150$
Head Gasket-30$
Bore Cases-50$
Cam-150$
Valve springs-95$
Port and Flow cyclinder head-250$
fst 37mm carb kit-250$
it is now 11:1 compression ratio, on 93 octane a must.
in order to install this kit the following must be done
remove old sleeve by boreing
bore case to accomadate larger sleeve
A aftermarket pipe is a must Yoshimura, and HMF are the only ones that accomadate the mass flow of air
K&N filter
Possibley a re-clutching to compensate for the higher rpms of the motor.
The vinson will now be able to do wheel standing wheelies, from a rolling start, or while at a clip. total cost ranges from
1300 for the kit about, to 1600 with clutching and pipe.- a good pipe is a HMF, or a Yoshi, the pipe jet filter, will be about 220$, dont get a jet kit. -0 just go to the dealer, or someware and buy individual jets at 4 dollars a jet, fst should be able to set you up with numbers.
