Default King Quad EFI Failure - cold weather

My EFI has been failing when really cold (around -15F) and I was getting the flashing red " F1 " light. Manual says -bring back to the dealer. When I did they could not find it because it would never get that cold, so he showed me how to diagnose the error code.
Basically you stick a wire between 2 contacts on a wiring harness under the seat and the error code shows up on the instrument panel. So when it failed again this weekend it read "C-41".
I experimented by placing a hand warmer hot pack on each electronic component under the seat and finally found one which caused it to work again!
The dealer is looking into which component it is for certain - but in my mind I already know.
Just in case anyone else has seen this.... if so please let me know. thanks

I had this happen to me Last Sat. It was so cold , It took me about 5 minutes to get her started. It finally started up and had no problem the rest of the day.

What's the deal....I thought fuel injection was supposed to be the ANSWER! I'll stick to my carbed BF for now.

Sullivad,

Don't know if you already know this or not but the service manual states the C41 code is the fuel pump relay.

It's been real cold around here and have not experienced any problems yet myself.

Where is the fuel pump relay? I can certainly notice that the fuel pump does not prime when this problem occurs.
Like I said I put 2 hot packs on the electronic components under the seat and eventually it warmed them up to the point where they would work again and I did not get the trouble light blinking.
Is that relay located there?

The dealer decided to call Suzuki to find out what the error message C41 meant. I find that weird.

I think from looking at this site and others that I am the only one to exeperienc this, so I would not be really to worried about the EFI. I do find it start better than a carbed machine when cold...when it starts.

Yep, the fuel pump relay is located right next to the ECM under the seat...
