Are you runing with the airbox lid on or off? If it is off try puting it on. You could also try and adj your pilot screw.

i've had some of the same problems, I just had to do some adjusting with my card and with my airbox, but anyway you dont have to take the plastic or anything of to get the spark plug out, yea the space is small but you can remove it without taking a bunch of stuff off, try adjusting the pilot screw, or the air/fuel mixture screw
