Default Snow Plow Winch Cable

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new Tusk City Slicker Plow from Rocky Mountain ATV, and was wondering about my winch cable hook up. I have read in several posts that it would be advisable to replace my winch cable with a shorter cable or a strap. Everywhere I look they sell full length cables. I can't see spending the money on the full length cable when all I need is a six foot piece. Where is a good place to get either of these items?

Go to an auto salvage yard and get a long seatbelt, they work.

we were just discussing this over on the polaris forum, you may want to try a synthetic cable...here is a good deal:

rockstomper

the price for the 50 foot, 3/16" cable is at the bottom...

Thanks for your replies guys. It just so happens that I have a NOS seatbelt laying around (one good thing about being a pack rat), I'll give that a try. Now if I can just remember where I stored it (one bad thing about being a pack rat). LOL
