Eiger vs Wolverine
#1
Has anyone done a comparison? I realize they are not produced for the same markets but after owning a Wolverine (back in '96) and just spending a couple days on a manual, 4x4 Eiger, I think they are pretty comparable.
Back when I had my Wolverine I hated the fact it couldn't be taken out of 4 wheel drive. I also didn't care for the lack of mud protection and that mine didn't have the recoil back-up like the new ones. The tires sucked major @ss and because of their low profile I ended up tacoing a back wheel after hitting a rock at speed. I did like the disc brakes and front and rear suspension. As far as power goes, its been so long that I'd love to know how it stacks up against the Eiger.
Overall I was so impressed by the Eiger that I'm in the process of buying a leftover '04. As far as I can tell, the only downsides to the Eiger is that it's 80lbs heavier than a Wolverine and has a drum rear brake. Otherwise, just too many features to pass up and it rode and handled well and the power seemed decent. Got me where I wanted to go.

yes the eiger is very sporty...it just don't look like it with all that jeep like plastic...i think the eiger is as good or better then the wolverine because of what you said...the 4x4, the less weight, and the eigers larger tires..you won't get let down by an Eiger...very fun machine
