Default HELP! New owner needs help.

I just purchased 1998 King Quad, 250 or 300. How and where do I check the engine oil?
Also, it leaks oil from up high around the 3 shift leavers under the plastic. I do not see anything or any reason why oil would be leaking from up so high. Can anyone help?

To check your oil: Look just in front of the right rear wheel. There is a 3/4" diameter glass circle on the casing - you'll probably have to clean it off, but it will show you the oil level. Oil level should be above 1/2 way on the glass. Finding it the first time may be difficult, so try taking the right rear wheel off. The oil cap is on the same level as the oil sight glass, but it is located on the back side of the casing behing the right rear wheel. Typical oil cap about 1-1/4" in diameter.

No clue as to the oil leaking around the levers, unless it's somehow blowing oil up there from the head while running. There is no fan although there is an oil cooler up front. Try tracking the oil trail further to find the source. The only oil that should be around those levers is if the linkages were lubed.
