I got the Vinson, rode it and like it. Ordered the Ricochet skid plate set yesterday.

Congrats on your purchase! I know you will be happy with it. Did your machine have the two recalls taken care of before you received it?

What recalls are you referring to?

They had a recall on the fuel petcock valve. They had used screws that were a couple of milimeters too long, to fasten the petcock to the tank. And the lastest recall you may not have to worry about in Ariz. They say that the thumb throttle could get water in it, freeze and stick open. I have yet to get this recall notice.

Was this just on the '05's?

Yes the first one was addressed prior to me buying it last week and the second one which is the freezing cable issue is not a concern for me but I will have it taken care of anyway, the dealer said that Suzuki would contact me in the future. He did not know what the fix was as of last Monday.

Thank you for the congrats! I went on a 20 mile ride last weekend and it was great.

You've got my congrat's too. The Vinson is an awesome "middleweight". I rode a lot during our freak snow storm and didn't have any problems w/ the throttle. I'm doing some parts testing on the Vinnie to see what we can coax out of her w/out going into the "innards'. If you have any Vinson questions, Vinson 581 is the "authority".

Oh, and if you are going to do ANY *****-out riding, click your shocks up to -at least- the middle settings on the pre-loads. Mine are full-stiff (as I'm patiently waiting on our ed. to send me some shocks to test) due to the Mudlites rubbing on g-outs.

man your mudlites rub, my 589s with the lift will almost nail the fenders on hard enough landing, would your editor consider sending a set of shocks this way to yours truely? i am sureeeee i could put them through the most brutal beat session of their life....i been doing so to my frame, and apparently my welds are good, because this is my first time doing a frame, and second time welding in general!

i am supposed to be getting sliding CV axles made, so i will let you know how it turns out.

any questions feel free to ask
