suzuki z250 v. raptor 350
#21
i would have to say z250 for trail ridding...because its shaftdrive and has more clearance. The raptor 350 is more track.

The 350 raptor takes control of the trail, the trail takes control of the z250.

If you ride deeply rutted trails and you like to get caught up on everything like the raptor would go with the raptor. Personally I enjoy getting left behind because my bike does not have the ground clearance and get s stuck all the time (NOT!) The z250 is a way better trail machine. I go riding with the sport bike crowd all the time and they all get a kick out of how much rough stuff I can get through with out getting stuck. I was riding behind a 450r this weekend and him and his g/f had to keep getting off to get the bike unstuck and then I would go through like nothing. stock for stock the craptor is faster if thats what your worried about. But If you wanna make it there, then the z250 you can't beat it.

One thing I know for sure is that the raptor 350/warrior's are one of the most reliable sport atv's on the market, and require very little maintnance. And i have riden with my naighbor in the woods on tight trails, hes got a 250ex, which basiclly is a z250, and in 3 inches of snow, this is really sad, but I could easly keep up with him and I even passed him a few times. This was back when I had a panterra 90 from pepboy's.....

The Raptor is something that you won't get bored with, you can pretty much do anything with it (trail ride, race, sand dunes, snow) and they are extremly relaible too. All around just a good machine, my friend had a Z, good machine too we just killed the poor thing by being too hard (way too hard) on it but it still couldn't keep on my raptor on the streets or on the trail. And even though the Z has a little more ground clearence it'll pretty much get stuck the same (a big rut can still swallow an atv no matter how you look at it).

damn, its crazy how fast people get into brand wars..both these quads are great, id be happy with any quad i got, even if it was a 90. the z and the warrior both have goods and bads, depending on what the rider wants....the 350 has a clutch and an extra gear i guess, if you dont know how to use a clutch and dont want to learn or dont want to deal with that then the z would be better cuz its auto, but the z wont be nearly as fast as the warrior/raptor. if u wanna learn to use a clutch or want a manual because thats what your used to then go with the 350. the z has a little more ground clearance due to being shaft driven instead of chain driven, but maybe your not worried about ground clearance. it all comes down to what you want. if the quad doesnt have what you want then dont get it. both of these quads will do just fine on trails. its your personall prefrences that will make you like one better than the other

I guess i'm making my choice based on how my bike is. With all the mods I have done, my little bike hauls a$$. It will do a lil over 60mph and gets there as fast as a 400 ex. The gas mileage, ground clearance and reliability are excellent on my bike. I would chose mine over many bikes for trail riding. I ride with alot of buddies and we swap up bikes and they usually tell me that my bike is an awsome trail machine and because of the auto clutch its more user freindly than their own bike because of no stalling. jus my 2 cents.
