Have any of you tried both? I realize they are 2 different animals, how nimble does the King feel on the trails?
Mostly trail riding, not really into the mud.
Is the Z uncomfortable on a long day of trail riding?

edrocks,
It depends on what your interested in doing... I have a KQ but have ridden my buddy's Z alot. The Z is a great trail rider and with decent tires will carry you almost anywhere you may want to go.
The KQ on the other hand can and will go places that a Z cannot and can be quite spirited on trails. Recently on a trip into Bull Creek we had a chance to race a bit on some tight trails off Cematary Rd and I had no problem keeping up with his Z. On the longer straights though, it was all Z.... LOL
Good Luck!

they are both great quads but the king quad is having a bunch of problems with the reverse and afew other things if you do decide on the king quad wait till the 06 models and see if they still ahve the problem but the first year models normally always have a couple of bugs and yes the z400 is very comforatble on a long day ride, it never wears me out, or it jsut might not cuz i am a kid and hava lot of energy but then it will also deoened on the type of riding u do, if there is a ton of mud, water, etc. then the king would be better

I have a king quad and use to have a z400. The z is a great quad, but nowhere near as comfortable as the kq on all day rides. the kq is the closest utility to a sport imho. Should be awesome on the hatfield mcCoy.

i can't make any comments on how a king rides because i hav never ridden one, but it wud be my first choice for a utility quad if i get one after they work out the bugs

edrock,
I haven't run the Hatfield trails but I have ridden in the "Cooper Rock State Forest" north of Morgantown WV and the KQ performed great. I was amazed how well it would juk between trees for a quad of its size and it handled rocks and streams with no issues...
I will admit there has been a growing number of people with reverse failure with the 2005 KQ. I have two and have had no failures for whatever that is worth...
Oh and the Hatfield and Mc coy trails are on my list of places to hit this year!
Good Luck,

Thanks. I've alse read about the KQ issues with reverse and that units manuf. after January of 05 don't have the problem. Not sure I can resist, the reviews on this thing are AWESOME. Would luv a racer to, but overall all day comfort must be on the KQ. Originally posted by: Hibrass
