Default High compression zilla

A friend of mine is running a zilla that trinity built him for drag racing. Its supposed to have 15-1 comp i think.
The thing is, he keeps blowing the o-rings out on his head. This thing dosent have any kind of girdle or support to tie the cylinder and head all together. Does anyone make girdles for these? Trinity told him to remove the top motor mount! they said that the torque was stressin it causing them to blow.

I kinda feel sory for him, caus hes got a lot of $$$ tied up in this engine, and I know hes put at least 6 o-rings in since summer

thanks

Have him check his motor mounts first. Next, make sure the octane of his fuel is sufficient. I would say at least 100 or so. Excess heat from predetonation (a known Zilla problem) can cause gaskets to blow. Good Luck.

Thanks.. Hes on alky now, he was on race gas. She got pretty hot on him the first few times he had it out, but I dont think hot enough to warp anything.
Isnt there something about the earlier motors, and head studs too small or not enough or something?

The '87 cylinders had only 6 head studs. In '88 they were changed to 7. If he's getting hot on Alky, he might double check his jetting. Alky typically runs cooler than Gas.

Sounds like another trinity victim! Removing the top motor mount is ridiculous! Depending on how much compression it really does have, a rubber Oring might not seal it... I've seen guys using a stainless 'crush' ring to help contain higher compression motors.
Trinity is clueless... I'll be curious to see how well they take care of him on this one.
Probably as well as they took care of me. (Bent over and slammed you know where...) ((Same old thing, "we got your $$$, now go away!!"))

There are no girdles for these motors, they are not needed. If trinity did the job right (Assuming it's an '87) they would have replaced the smaller studs with larger ones to fix the design issue with the 6 studs.

My $.02

Thanks!

Update--
He took the motor apart and the section on the piston, between the bottom and the top intake ports had broken off... and did a big ole dance on top of the piston.
I took a real close look at the inside of the piston, in this area, and trinity had been in there with a grinding stone...?!?
Why is this? Anyone know what they removed?
What ever it was, it clearly made it weak.
The studs look to be around 5/16 dia. (6 of them)

Oh well..... hes sending it back to Cali. AGAIN
