The one I have is off a 400ex, no tps, no choke. I bought it from a friend, he got it from C&D racing.

I just ordered a 12.2:1 piston. Is it safe to put in the DRZ Base gasket with it. I am getting both hot cams and the drz valve springs. Would it be better to get aftermarket valve springs? I am also hoping to get my head ported.

Mine has been very solid for the past year and a half. I have ridden it very hard. Those bikes are troopers. I wouldn't trade it for any other.

I think you might want to look at a big-bore kit all of my buddies I ride with at the dunes have done them also my old z had the hot cams and I loved them with the HMF pipe and major carb work with K&N filter no lid ran great would keep up with the predators and close to the yfz with a slightly larger rider. I would look at either the 440 kit or the 470 kit would be my choice if you still want more power you can always check out boondockers NOS kits they really rip.
