Where can you buy the k and n filters that clamp directly onto the back of carbs? I went to like 5 quad and dirtbike shops, and countless auto zones, and noone stocked a k and n filter that clamps directly onto the carb. YOu know, the kind of filters where can remove your airbox and just use the filter.

The cheapest place that I have found is: www.rockymountainatv.com. Actually one just came in the mail today for my quad. I got the k&n filter and an outerwears cover for $41.67 with shipping. They are awesome to work with and I get most all of my parts from them.

I doubt they would be listed under the lt250r page because it is a mod that isn't specific to only quadracers. I use a 2 1/4" diameter one on my quadracer and it's item #400457. I have no idea if it would be the same filter for your quad because it is a 87' and mine is an 85'. They changed the quads in 87 so I really couldn't tell you. I would call rocky mountain atv @ (800) 336-5437 and see what they have to say. Or you could look on peoples bios with a modded lt250r 87-92 and PM about what size they use. I hope this helped and good luck

Measure the outside diameter of your carb and find the filter with the same diameter. Make sure you get an outerwears with it.

The outerwears are "water repellent", but not water proof.

depends what carb you have do like mentioned measure carb diameter where filter will go and order accordoingly. I also use 2 1/4 K&N Clamp on with outwear cover. You can also get from FTZracing.com,Trinityracing.com etc. FTZ sells another brand just as good but blue filter element and they sell filter wraps and outwears. Trinity sells K&N also velocity tubes etc. Big diff from using airbox. You will most likely need to rejet. I got rid of airbox years ago! Just avoid MUd and big puddles.
