Doesn't sound right. This part is all the way to the front of the airbox near the handlebars. There are 4 rivets that hold it in place. You better be careful or you could screw something up real bad if you don't know what you are doing.

Theire is only one thing coming out of the air box, it has to be that, theire is 4 rivits that holds a plastic, and a rubber piece going in the air filter that looks like its to stop water. it has to be this if it has anything to do with the air filter. It's on the back ofthe air filter. thanks for you input

PITOU

you are right its the rubber snorkel coming out of the air box closest to the seat not handle bars. This made a substanital difference in my KQ(yellow) so much so that my father-in-law and brother-in-law went down and bought the new KING yesterday(both red). We know have 5 in the family. We slapped the King (mine) on a dyno owned by a friend and it gave us a 2-3 hp increase at 5300 ft elevation from 31hp to 33.5hp. Big gain!!! Now its a breeze to wheelie in low. still tough in high range though.

I was wrong, it is on the seat end of the box, my mistake. When I saw the airbox, it was out of the machine. My friend had lost reverse and I was looking at the parts at the dealer lying on the floor. We picked it up and looked at removing the snorkel. We both thought that was the front of the box but upon looking at my machine, I see now I was wrong and it is in the rear. Sorry.

Dobeck was able to sqeek out just a shade under 5hp with more fuel and the airbox opened up by removing the snorkel, so that 2-3 sounds very reasonable. If you add fuel, since it is lean to begin with + adding the extra air, you will most likely gain a little more.

I have put some good ride time on my KQ with the clutch kit installed and I would recomend it to any of you running larger tires.
