Default 89 Lt 250 motor work

First of all ill tell you what i ride.its a 89 suzuki lt250r with the mods in my sig.i ride fast trails and open fields.i want it to be reliable but with a fair amount of power.you modded out lt guys are your quads reliable?my maintnence habbits are good.i run 32:1 amsoil mix with 93 or 94 octane gas.i could possibly run race fuel.

my motor needs new cylinder studs and exhaust studs.where can i get these?and do they make oversized ones? these are the studs that go up through the cylinder from the crank case and the three that the exhaust bolts to.

i want to port my cylinder for mostly midrange and top end.who do you guys reccomend and dont reccomend?iv heard good things about eric gorr, and he has a great price.i want to get some head work done too.should i just get an aftermarket power head or get mine shaved, ported(can you port your head?),or polished?if shaved how much?

i need a new pipe and silencer.what is best besidse LRD(too hard to find)? i would like a good all around power pipe.mostly midrange

im going to get a new carb.should i get a kehin 38 airstriker or a kehin 39 airstriker?

i want new reeds.whats best on 250's?

Whats wrong with your studs? Are they striped or loose? I checked Ronnies and to my surprise they didn't have any studs. But if you want you cylinder worked on I personally recommend FTZ. They will port it according to what you want. They opened up my cylinder for mid/top range, and I also ordered there head since I needed a special head to fit the YZ piston that went in it. I think when it was said and done it came to like $650 or something. Not bad for a port job, new piston, and custom head. And there service is excellent too. And I would go with there pipes too because when you start modding out your bike, best to stay with one company because all there stuff is made to work together. They have carbs to reasonably priced, but if you want more lower end, go with a 38mm, if top end is what you want, go more along the 39mm and let it breath.

u can check my page to see my engine mods. i used eric gorr and he is great. excellent work for a lower price. i got the head mod also. with carb and cage and motor mods i had to up my gearing twice, because it pulled through the gears way too fast for motocross. i also had him rebuild my lower end, from the crank out. it was around $500, and i think the head and cylinder was like $150-200. not bad to have your whole engine rebuilt.

Yeah that included boring. Here is a link to there page. FTZRacing Click on the porting and head work link, after they worked on my cylinder, I'm now having to redo my suspension just to accommodate the motor, this thing rips. But if you need new exhaust studs on your cylinder, just get some metric bolts to use. If your needing new ones in your block, you may be able to find some bolts long enough to use, cut the heads off them, run a die over them to get the burs, then there you have your self a new stud. Just an idea.

i thought so. it freaking rips now! i got used to the power, but when i first ran it after it's mx transformation, i was like, how the hell i am going to control this. i got the rad valve from a friend. i'm sure replacing the reeds would be good enough. (also i'm running a single ring pro-x piston)
