My Brother has a 04 Raptor with a Yoshi Comp exhaust. I have an 02 Z-400 with a 450 big bore kit and a Yoshi Comp exhaust, how can I beat him all around trails or drag race. HELP!

 

you should already be smoking him...also 03 is the first year for the Z's...they came out in late 02 though.

 

You're not going to beat him in the woods because he has a lot more torque than you and he doesn't have to shift as much.

 

hmm, in the trails it all comes down to the rider, but on the drags i dont know, what do you have in the 450 kit??? Port and Polish? High compression piston? What kind of cam you running? Stock carb? stock intake? it takes a lot to beat a Fully piped Raptor in a drag race... and trail is 95% rider

 

I've raced raptors and won and have been beaten too. most of it depends on rider ability
and how much the bike is modded or how the weather is outside. I know if its a little humid out and cool
my quad runs great, but if it warms up and the air is real dry it runs crappy

 

Well right now my bike is in the shop getting fixed, somehow I bored out the cylinder with sand, my 450 big bore kit is getting installed along with hot cams, new intake valve, and a wiseco piston (not sure about compression). I will be running with ??? jets and a open air box with outerwares cover, the carb is still stock for now.

 

you will prob. be even up to 3ed, but he will get you in 4th and 5th gear.. if you got the head ported and polished to flow right you would prob. be even. its 90% rider just remember that.

 

What the hell are you guys smoken. You dont even need a big bore kit to beat a exhaust modified raptor. The only time you should need a bigbore to beat a raptor is when they are at a 686cc. Second stupid thing i read was that the raptor will beat him in the woods. WRONG "hello , Mc Fly" The Z-400 will beat a raptor in the woods. Third thing is that you dont want to listen to anything 86LT250RFatty has to say. He is just full of negative comments and opinions. Serisously he is 15 and thinks hes a doctor.

 

ooh strong words their MuRdEr. |I Know this first hand, a completly stock raptor (mine) vs a Yoshi and K&N Z400 in a drag was no competition,we even switched riders. An exhaust on a raptor and open airbox turns it into a whole new machine, up to 13 more hp, so the Z400 is going to have to do something to get that 13hp....., like big-bore and port and polish and cam...

 

do we really care who beats who? I dont. its a waste of time
any person can be beat by any other person at sometime so its a waste
