Have you noticed the one consistancy in all these massive numbers of posts about the KQ reverse issue - seems to hold true no matter if you are a KQ owner that has had reverse go out or not:

Almost everyone posts, "WHEN the reverse goes out." Very few say, "IF the reverse goes out."

I believe I'll wait to see what happens in '06.

I doubt the 06 will have a problem.....it looks like they did a great job of over engineering that bearing. It'll probably outlast everything else on the machine now.....

The bushing would of worked out just fine as that does not appear to be the source of the problem. The shaft with it's missing oil holes looks to be the smoking gun. The new one has been corrected with the addition of holes to let the oil reach the bushing/bearing directly now as it should of been in the first place.

I would be willing to bet, you will not hear of any further failures on machines changed over to this new shaft or the late '05 and future model year machines. It will become history. Unfortunately, those of us that have the earlier machines are stuck with this defect.

You're not gonna be stuck if you chain it to a tree and use reverse for awhile.....

Normally I wouldn't be an advocate of doing dishonest things but intentionally damaging a defective reverse gear so you can get it replaced is in this case perfectly acceptable. The the accountants and lawyers have got their way and Suzuki is fvcking their customers. People who have been stuck with a defective 7000 dollar ATV that Suzuki will not fix until it self destructs and leaves them stranded should feel free to return the favor and fvck Suzuki long and hard with no lube.

I just hope someone finds a way to restore the advertised reverse operation. Something reversible that will uncripple the reverse and can be put back to 'stock" before returning it to the dealer for service or something.

Captian Quint....I'm sure some enterprising individual out there will come up with something!!! Its just a matter of time.....
It should be interesting to see if they do anything about that with the 2006 models. Maybe they'll come up with some better colors too so that they can distance themselves from the bad reputation the defective transmission models are going to give them......
