Lots of other posts here and on Highlifter forum about it. The short story: All '05 KQ's with the rev. bushing must get the new ECM. All '05 KQ's with the bushing will be covered with a 5 year warrantee for the trans. If the reverse goes out, Suzuki will fix it including the new bearing. Suzuki will not replace the bushing with the new bearing unless there is a reverse failure, however there has been at least one post of someone getting this done at the dealer level as a warrantee issue. It is thought that all '06 KQ's and maybe some '05 KQ's will come new with the bearing. All KQ's will continue to have the newer ECM.

Found it....supposedly any 2005 KQ with a vin number above JSAAP41A_52115956 comes from the factory with the new roller bearing and shaft. The _ is a "check digit" and can be any number or letter....it does'nt mean anything. This number came from a previous post who got it from Highlifter. You might wanna do a search to confirm that.....but it sounded like good info. My local dealer had one in stock but he could'nt sell it to me for 2 1/2 weeks because of the throttle cable recall. I got mad about all this crap and the way Suzuki and their dealers were treating everyone and went down the street and bought a Yamaha instead.
