Default Vision 2004 Frame Problem

Mine is a 2003, over 12000kms. Noticed a month ago the frame was broke in three places along the bottom of the engine between the foot pegs. Not a good thing to happen on a big machine. I drive it pretty hard and do a fair bit of towing, but it still should not of happened. I had to get it welded.

Default Vision 2004 Frame Problem

err. and i thought this was only on the 02s.

guys mabey WE can get a petition togeather or some sort, of thing to bring up to suzuki with a claim, or a recall being this is UNSAFE.

my frame broke in let me count, 1 2 3 4 5 places.....

top motor mount.
under the rear rack
right infrount of the frount foot peg,
upper frame rail connecting the lower and diagnol frame supports, by the motor
left bottom frame rail, right infrount of the foot peg
left upper frame rail running horizontaly to the lower frame rail

guess my math was off BROKE IN 6 spots, so bad the whole frount end seperated from the rear..... oh joy..... basically the skid plate, and differental were holding the whole bike togeather.

those mothers at suzuki wont do a thing, and i say F em. thats the really big reason i got a 400ex, and NOT a Z, all suzuki has is frame problems, and im ticked, in the least.

a recall petition might be a viable solution, that could help us, let me know what you think..

Default Vision 2004 Frame Problem

So what is the consensus on this? Are the vinsons rife with frame problems and not just limited to the 2002 model? My heart is set on a Vinson, but the thought of having to break out the welder every season is not reassuring? How are you all fixing the problem (personal welding, letting dealer fix it, or just replacing the frame)? Also, could this be caused by being overly abusive to the vinson? I'm still getting one, just want to know what to be prepared for.

Default Vision 2004 Frame Problem

I've ridden the sheot out of mine w/ no cracks. Lucky I guess. But, my question is this: What model year(s) seem to be crack prone? I remember, a while back-not sure what year model, the Z400's having frame crack issues.

Well mine is a 03 and has alot of use. After I the frame welded I spoke to my dealer and he said I should have told him cause he probably could have did something for me. Didn't even come in my mine to do that because of the 6 month warranty. Anyway there was another guy who had the same problem and he did infact get a new frame. The question that I should have asked the dealer was, what would the cost to me be. For example- who pays labour . Right now I am thinking of buying a KQ. Is its frame also faulty. Maybe i should switch brands.
