I hope it is still under warranty! My wifes did the same last spring. Hers the drive shaft splines sheared, luckily it was all under warranty. Best of luck.

I really don't know they didn't give me any cost sheet since it was a Freebie but they sure did make it sound and look like it was a pain in the ****!! They had it for at least two weeks. I bought the extended warranty just for the driveline purpose, I can work most things on the quad but that driveline just seems to fall in the same catagory as vavle grinding don't want to mess it up!

Meischeech is most likely right. If it was a ring and pinion problem it probably would have ground or growled before giving up. I have replaced rear drive shafts, and pinion gears (never on a z250 though) and it wasn't that big a job. It's not something I would would be afraid of with a factory manual. I woulnd't expect it to cost over $200 if you did it yourself.

Thanxs Man! I'm in the middle of Big-Boreing it and gonna try out some TT racing with some others over at Puget Sound area riders. I will see just how low those Elka's will drop it and have some American racers flattrackers to throw on. I will try to get some pics when I'm all done.

My z250 is starting to leak gear lube around the seal on the axle, LOL I got no idea what's going on in the rear end but I hope it fixes itself I don't want to have to mess with it.
