Clutch kits replace the clutch springs and/or weights of the engagement clutch. Works on the same principal as a stall converter for an automatic transmission. Instead of engaging at 1500rpm your'e engagning at 3000rpm. Makes you take off or launch harder since your into more of the meaty part of the powerband when the clutches engage. Now there are clutch kits specifically for autos or so I'm told but I'm not sure how they work, unless they just delay the expansion of the shifting clutches causing the motor to stay higher in the rpm's.
