Default 250R clutch problem

I have an 1985 250R that the clutch cable broke on. I replaced it with a new one, but now when I squeeze the clutch handle, it stays put and does not go back to the original position. I have tried adjusting the cable at the handle and by the clutch arm to no avail. What is supposed to "spring" the clutch handle back to the original position? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default 250R clutch problem

it is hard to say exactly what is causing this,it could be improper installation,or the puller behind your pressure plate could have become disengaged, best to figure it out is to just buy a manual, and reed through the parts on clutch/clutch cable instalation/repair
