Oil change KQ700
Just changed my oil and noticed a stamp on the gear case saying 2300ml. The owners manual says ~2.6 quarts. Then it says to check oil level by dipping in the stick but not screwing it in. I'm only half full of oil after i let it run and sit 3 minutes. Also says to have oil at full mark. Anyone care to comment? Also says don't over fill or under fill.

Oil change KQ700
Got to do my second oil change tomorow, not that it is do, but put it in to much water and I had my snorkle off the air filter and water got in. The oil has water in it. I did not run it after I got out of the water. It still ran good but I think water went in the belt cause it slipt alot. Had a great time until this hapen. Learn my lesson, let others lead.

Oil change KQ700
Grabbed a post from another site....
I will quote directly fron the King Quad manual;
page 5-10, engine oil level CHECK
- "the level found in the dipstick shold be between "L" (Low) and "F" (Full) lines.
and that is under the following conditions
- "The oil filler cap threads are not run in but touching the filler hole upper edge."
Engine oil and filter CHANGE, page 5-13
- "Pour about 2.5 L (2.6 US qt) of the specified oil in the filler hole."
then on page 5-14
- "Turn the enging off and wait for three minutes. Recheck the oil level with the engine oil dipstick. The oil level should be at the "F" (full) mark. If it is lower that the "F" mark, add oil untill it reaches the "F" mark."
So why are we getting our quads back from an oil change and the oil level is not at the full mark? It reccomends the 2.6 quarts. But then they say if it is not at the full mark, WHICH IT IS NOT GOING TO BE, add oil untill it reaches the F mark. This should not be our responsibility to take our machine home and have to add another half quart or so to get it full. Why would a reverse gear go out, besides the design, when there is not enough oil in the engine? Hmmmmmmm.
So if I were you, do the oil check on your machine before you take it home and have them put the full amount in. I tried to do this but did not have my manual with me to know it is supposed to be at the full mark after a change, not between the full and low.
