RAGGED...I gotta give you a thumbs up on that post. Truth. What is all this "drag racing stuff" about anyway. It's a fact that the K.Q. will clock out OVER 70. So....who wants to go that fast on a quad. Not me! I'm cool at 50...and besides the factors that got this machine ATV of the year were "all around" factors where the K.Q. covers all the bases well. The power of the brute might be great...however...there is more to it than power. Ragged is right on this one. The K.Q. is still ATV of the year. You can't take that away. It does it all....well!

Pastor, I don't care about atv of the year, but you are right. It is a all around quad, it has enought power, and the ride is great, it handle awsome, it work good in the mud, it starts and runs great. And Pastor you are right it goes fast enough. who would want to race a utility quad.

As far as racing goes its fun. There are utility classes in all sorts of diffrerent ATV racing. I don't race profesionaly, we just race each other for fun. Drag racing at the dunes is one of my favorite types of racing. My FST 800 puts allot of sport quads to shame. Plus I get the nice plush ride of the Twin Peaks where ever I go and how ever fast I want to get there.

cc1999...I looked at your photos...WOW! You know your stuff man. The list of machines that you have had and currently own is amazing. That being said...I live in Eastern Washington. Home of some of the most rugged terrain anywhere. I have seen and heard of where some machines fairing better in cartain environments. I have been a die-hard Suzuki fan ever since I had the old King Quad. Now, i have the new one...and couldn't be happier. One has to match the machine with the desried type of riding. This machine for me...has it all. It seems like there are A LOT of people feel the same way. A friend of mine brought his prarie 650 out to Wash. at that time I had a Vinson...rode both of them I was impressed with the prarie. But, to me some of this stuff is so close only the techno guys can make the call. Go with what you like. The King does great up here....in fact my Vinson was almost...unstoppable in these mountains. Howver, being a Pastor, I must tell the truth...i got stuck in a REAL mudhole up toward Canada...My friend had a Polaris H.O. 500...good thing he had a winch. Problem is...this guy has too good of a memory...plus he took pictures! My point being...I am having a blast. That is what really matters.

I understand. If it makes you feel any better, I know my Suzuki's are kinda half breeds but I have pulled a Polaris sp500 out more than once and towed it for miles back to camp, when its belt failed or the time its axle snapped in two. Thats true there is no perfect quad for everyone. There are a lot of really great quads out there now days to pic from. There are really very few that I would call bad. The KQ is looking like its going to be one of the great ones.

Pick up my KQ today. Can't wait to see how much better it is to the Vinson even though I was more than happy with the Vinny.

Outrage...I too loved the feel of the Vinson.....but you are in for a real shock: this bike is better! The K.Q. has taken the whole atv experience a little further down the road. It just is awesome package that does all things well. I know you'll enjoy it.

I think you are right but what were they thinking when they put those toy racks on? Don't even think the bag I had on my Vinson will fit! Anyone know where I can get some extensions? I'm also looking for a gas can/cooler rack. Thanks.

"In a class where there are some really great ATVs the King Quad stands as the best of the best. It’s as smooth as a Rubicon, as comfortable as a Grizzly, handles as good as a Rincon, almost as fast as a Brute Force!"----> direct quote from ATV television who gives the King a rating of 9.75 and the brute only a rating of 8.46 .................. i myself would get the King, it has won all the shootouts, isn't quite as powerful as the Brute but who needs ne more power then a 700efi unless ur going to be drag racing constantly, id rather have a little less power with better handling and smoother more comfortable ride any day.

OK, I read through this entire thread...I know, too much time on my hands but I found it interesting. You all pretty much had good things to say about your King, as well you should, you spent the money for it so you should be happy. What really would like to know is what are the weak areas...any faults or improvements Suzuki could work on.
