Default Magizine Tech articles Suck

How come the tech articles in ATV amgizines are few and far between. When they are in the magizine they offer no real info just fluff stuff. Instead they run crap like that half wave runner half who knows what, or look at this fancy quad with every aftermarket part on it but no info. How about how to set up front suspensions, get the most out of your shocks, bearing carrier replacement, hell go crazy and show the porting of a head. When you read Chevy High Performance or Hot Rod they get into everything even stuff most back yard mechanics wouldn't do like setting up rear end gears but it's nice to see the process for those who don't know. Then they would at least know the right questions to ask or what to expect. I should start my own rag, but first I had better lean how to write.

They do that because their job is to sell magazines, and to help their advertizers sell parts.

If they taught you how to do things without a three page parts list it wouldnt help them.

Even funnier to me is the tech or Q&A sections where all the questions are pretty much on what aftermarket parts to buy, or simple stuff that doesnt need a long answer.

They still help me get thru the winter though.

I get a kick out the tech letters. Penland and everyone else answer with completely useless vague answers, no wonder there are so many people online. The whole darn thing is a waste of paper if you ask me.

The auto magizines have the same intent, to sell magizinesand help advertisers sell parts, but they still do much better tech articles.

I agree completely. Does make me now wonder why I buy magazines that arent made to help me, only to promote the magazine and its advertisers.

The thing I cant stand about magazines is the test of some new wonder machine and how great it is. But if you really want to make it even greater you need to send the suspension here, and the engine here, buy this pipe and that filter, etc.....
