Which is over all best quad? i mainly do mid speed cruising and some mud, nothing hardcore

 

I feel the Kodiak is the better Quad but might be more than you need. The Polaris s very capable, and neither is going to break any speed records. Why are you asking this on the Suzuki forum?

 

400sp is way better becuase of the on demand true four wheel drive!
more suspention travle more ground clearence, more power, keeps you cleaner,it american,raidial tires,
26 inch stockers, 1250lbs of towing, and they look better pluse a bigger person will fell better on the sp as well as small people i have driven the 450 kodiak and it gfelt to small! im 5'10" so i would always take the 400sp, and the kodiak that i ride with gets stuck more then my kingquad???????? he may be faster on the road but in the water and mud he dies!

 

Im asking this beause if i asked on polaris they would say sp 400 would be better and same with yamaha.....ALL i want to know is this, What is the power compared to the eiger? Can the sp400 climb a steep hill ok w/o struggling?

 

I think you will be fine with the 400, for the money( I assume it is cheaper thatn the Kodiak?) it will be able to haul you up hill. Does it have a low gear?

I can not help you there as the last Polaris 400 I rode was a early 90's machine. My opinion would not be current enough to help you out. It is hard to go wrong with any of the big manufacturer's machines now days. You only run into isues when you ride with someone that has a bigger machine and try to do every thing they do just as hard.

 

it will go 60 and in the acceleration it's not blisteringly fast but it gets the job done!
he out runs my king prety good and i know thats prety good.

 

My dad has an sp400 and an sp500ho...whenever we go riding...he obviously takes the 500 wether i have a pasenger or not and you can really feel the difference. They ride very smooth and run very well on the trail.The 500 has had no problems at all yet but the 400 had a deffective front diff that caused us a few problems.Cant say much for the 450 kodiak but i do know the sp's are great quads..the 500ho is worth the extra 900$ Can... The 500 is polaris best selling bike for a reason id sudgest go with the 500 but thats my opinion.Cause i always have to take the 400 it caused me to want to buy a kingquad so im saving up my pennies for soehting with more juice for when i have my gf on the back and when i wanna trailride and go muddin cause i love the mud....hope it helps!
