87 lt 500r

I recently bought a 87 500r quadzilla.It is in excellent orig shape.all original plastic with only one crack(in rear fender)Runs great and all stock except for twist throttle.Good tires on alum wheels,Blackwaters rear, holeshots front,Steel nerf bars,all shocks are great and bearings are good.What is it worth??Any help is appreciated.Thanks in advance...

There is a modification you should do to the cylinder and head(if it isn't done already). The "jug" needs to be sent out to have more studs installed. I think stock has four, and an outfit like Tinity will put in 6. That was a weak point on the 87's. Also, I think your machine is worth closer to 3 grand. It depends on where you are located.

THANKS for the tip,I am pretty novice to suzuki,Always been a Honda man but have always liked Suzuki.Any other tips for the zilla as far as pipes or jets?What about plugs,Gearing,I stiil have my Ex for trail riding but think it might be fun to warm this zilla up and just run the crap out of it.Thanks again.

I am the owner of two 87 lt500`s (one is parts)and the ds650
the price of this unit should be 1500-and up depending on mods and condition it sounds like you have like a 2000-2500$ atv if you have the time and $ to keep this atv in good condition you will enjoy the pleasure of passing all how ride with you
trail riding this monster is great the trick is keeping two sprockets one for trails and one for the open areas and drags
I have the dg pipe and rad reeds .60 over ported twist baha skids jet to your climate
remember you must feed the zilla one banshee a week and keep your health insurance to date
hope the kids enjoy the 300ex
