I have an '04 Eiger automatic with 320 miles on it. Yesterday it became stuck in 4wd - meaning the thumb switch will not rotate back up. I took the thumb switch apart and it looks OK.
Anybody have any ideas on probable cause or troubleshooting tips?

My brother had the same problem with his Eiger. Upon taking the thumb switch apart he noticed that a small plastic nylon piece was broken and was not moving the cable at all. Without the plastic piece, the cable did not move enought to switch feom 4wd to 2wd.

If not here, could be a broken cable or something by the front differential.

 

It might just bee a stick or something that got jammed in there, do some investigating.

 

down below where it disconects the drive line you can adjust it there...that seemed to fix my problems...but if you switch dont' move at all i donno
