King Quad Skid Plates and Accessories
#1
I have ordered my king quad today and I stayed with the factory skid plates. I ride in the mountains where there is alot of rocks but mostly stick to the trails. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the neccessity of the aluminum skid plates or are the factory ones standing up alright. I am also getting front and rear bumpers 2.5 wintch, and ITP 589's on the factory rims.

Congrats on your KQ. I would think about getting some aluminum rims- as the stock rims on my KQ seem to be getting pretty beat up quickly. We do not have the rocks here in Michigan like I saw out west either. Just a thought on that- plus you can then keep the stock tires and rims for trail riding and get some more specialized tires for the other riding.

I pickup my KQ next Thursday, I have been riding an Eiger for the past few years and went through the factory plastic plate in 2 years. Ordered a new factory plastic plate and covered it with an Armordillo Teflon Plastic Skid Plate, so I was running 2 plates - Worked Great.
On the King I have kept the factory plastic plate but went with Aluminum A-arm guards on the front and back. Going to do the wait and see thing on the bottom plate to see how it holds up. Armodillo does not yet make a skid plate for the King, if they do I would most likely go with it again over the factory plate. I found it to give me better protection and skidding than the aluminum. With the Aluminium once you dent it, it stays dented, the plastic always comes back and with 2 of them the protection was fantastic on the Eiger.
