Guys, under about half throttle, the motor starts to make almost like a knocking noise. The motor has 800 miles on it, and the valves have never been adjusted.

Could this be it?

 

It very well could be. Suzuki recommends a valva adjustment at 100 hrs. I have just over 500 miles on mine and decided to take it to the dealer to have the 2 recall issues fixed and have the valves adjusted. It's about 100 bucks for the valve adjustment at the dealer.

 

if your putting a load on the motor it's probley the cam chain...

 

I had someone tow me home the other day, and noticed the same noice coming from the tranny when in neutral just rollin.

I'm wonderin if the belt needs adjusted?

blawhorn: just curious, when you were being towed home, where you riding a Vinson? If so, what happened?

 

I was on the Vinson

I stripped the case threads out somehow, anyhow, couldnt' figure out why I was running hot. Went into the creek, and saw a stream of oil coming from under the quad.

She was bone dry.
