05 Eiger buzzing noise
#21
My auto only has certain noises that are from vibration like the skid plates and such. You should not be able to hear the noise from 75 to 100 yards away, stop riding it and take it to the dealer. Don't put up with any of thier crap.

Have you checked the obvious things? Is the gear lube level where it is supposed to be? Oil level? I know it sounds simple, but you never know. I had a new Ford Conversion van that was slipping in reverse. Sure enough, trans fluid was low. I have an 05 Eiger 4x4 5 speed, no noise. The fuel line is 5/16", and 1/4" will fit. Get a fuel filter with as much filter media as possible. The little disc types won't last long.

I went to pick up my buddies eiger and got in an argument with the mechanic, he realized I was right when the owner told him to check the dipstick and "PROVE EM WRONG"!!! , it was 2 quarts low. He hed also said there was nothing wrong with the clutch (it was making a loud grinding noise) but they would "check it out". Turns out the clutch bolts were loose.
So go buy the manual and take responsibility for yer prized possession. Then find a competent mechanic to listen to it.
It should be loaded and taken to the dealer and let them hear it run. They will never make a house call. If the mechanic says it sounds great, then go in and listen to a new one. This is a good way to see how he treats his customers.
Check the fluids. The auto will run with the sidecover removed so you can watch the operation of the clutch.
You can get a nice lift for bout $70, it will be the best tool you will EVER buy!!!!
I noy only had plastic pieces in my carb but also in my oil the first time I changed it. It seems strange that this amount of plastic can get past the tank filter and the filter in the side of the carb.
A problem I have is the vacume operated petcock. Every time I pull the carbs the petcock is held open from dirt in it.
Its great to see all the new Eiger owners out there!!!! Thers a wealth of info available on this site!!
HAPPY TRAILS!!!!!
