Default 88 LT250R bogging

Ok so, I bought a quad. It had just gotten a fresh top end done to it so when I bought it it had like what...15 min on it? I was told by a few peeps that when a top end is done, it might need to be rejetted. I don't think it was.

After breaking it in (the proper way) I've found that it kinda bogs a bit between say no throttle to 1/4 - 1/3, you know when you're just taking off regular. If this was a truck or a car I'd say "It's missing" you know? I know what a 2 stroke sounds like when it misses, (kinda )
it's a consistant "miss", it does not cough or sputter

AND....if I choose to GET ON IT from a dead stop, this thing will get up and go...nice...through all the gears. Like I said, this is GETTING ON IT, hard on the throttle. So I'm told that this bogging on the short end of the throttle means the jetting is off. The bike runs bad in the 'slow circuit' part of the carb, but great in the ummm...main part of the carb?

Main is a 270, pilot is 530 or 30, cant really read it good, airscrew is at 1 1/2 out, clip is 3rd position, middle.

FMF fatty on it with an FMF silencer. FMF says it should be 240 on the main, 30 on the pilot 1 1/2 on the air, clip in the 3rd.

So then.........
Fiddled with the airscrew, no change, talked to a guy at Quincy Kawi/Suzuki in El Cajon, said to check the reeds. Checked them, a little sloppy, ordered some new ones. Also, the book calls for a different plug then was in it. Has a B8ES calls for a B9ES. Dont' know if that will make much of a diff. Gotta wait for the new reeds.

got 2 new pilots, one's a 25, ones a 20. Installed both one after another, 25 was better 20 seems to make it run best.

IT STILL DOES NOT RUN PERFECT!!!!

What is there left to check, besides waiting for the new reeds?

Thanks....sorry for the long first post

You're going the wrong way with your jetting, when a two-stroke is bogging that is because it is lean. Step up to a 35 and see how it works. You may want to play with your float hieght as well, if it's too high it can cause bogging.

I run a 40 pilot, with FMF fatty/silincer, K&N, reeds, no porting though. Mine needs to be a 37.5 cause it's a little rich, but it doesn't bog or foul plugs.
