OK everyone I think I am going to jet today. I am wondering if there are any "tricks" or anything that I should know? Is there a step by step kind of picture process anywhere on the net? Anything? Do I have to change both the pilot and the main or can I just change the main jet? Thanks for any info!!

Also anyone know if I am going to need to re-jet if I am just running an UNI filter with the airbox lid off? Thanks a lot!

 

What quad are you trying to jet? I see you have 2 listed. If it is the Z400, yes you will have to rejet if you do that. The z400 is jetted about as lean as you can get it stock for to meet emissions.

Yeah its the Z400. I wouldnt think that I would need to go up that much would I? What is stock? 130 main? I might need what like 135? Hmmm

 

Taking the lid off the 400 is gonna make it very lean, so be prepared to go about 3 up on the main.

OK so when you say 3 it is 130 now do I go up to 133? 150? Sorry I know how to do it I just need a round number to start with.

 

Sorry about that, going up 3 means going 3 sizes bigger. Main jets go by units of 5, so go 15 bigger. If youre stock is at 130, start with 145.
