Default Clutch Cable Holder 88 LT250R

Anyone know of a good source for an aftermarket holder for the clutch adjustment rod on the case? I found a bolt on one from Nac's, but $30 seems high to me for this piece. Thought about buying one then have a buddy machine a duplicate then return the other one.

Mine split right in the middle of the threads, I believe a branch caught it Sunday when I was climbing a hill. I already tried JB weld, it didn't hold. I tried alumiweld, but couldn't get it hot enough (plus the carb is awful close for a propane torch)

Thanks!

$30 might be a little high, but it's probably worth it given it will probably take a couple hours to build one. However, if you do decide to make your own, you don't need to bother buying one to copy. It's really simple. Just cut up a piece of posterboard and trim it until it bolts up to the two closest case bolts, and then trace it on a piece of flat metal. Cut it out, drill holes for the case bolts to go through, and weld a nut to it. You'll also have to hacksaw a slit in the nut to slide the cable through. You don't need anything but a hand grinder and a drill. I have a homade one on my 250. It's easy to make, but still plan on 2-3 hours to get it perfect.

I had to make one for my 250 as well. I used a nice flat curved governer rod off of a Kohler small engine. It was even looped in the middle for a perfect fit, just had to drill one hole and cut the end off. Painted it black and it looked factory. Just use a little thinking and you'll get it. Yagerzzz's idea is great if you dont mind the time to do it.

Thanks everyone. I traced out the pattern last night, I'll see how long our machinist thinks he'll have in it then I'll add another 30 minutes for real time.
I probably will be better just buying the one from Nac's though. We have some junk Onan motors around here, maybe I'll check them to.

Thanks again
