I am not mechanically inclined, but checked mine a few weeks ago. As stated earlier get the service manual as it walks you through step by step. I have a friend who is a mechanic and told him to stay near the phone in case I had any questions which I didn't end up having. The only cost you will incur is the manual, a set of feeler gauges, and the Suzuki bond when you put the gasket back on. Much cheaper than the $150 the dealer wanted. Total time took 1 1/2 hrs. I could probably do it again in half that.

Valves were fine nothing needed. My friend and I usually ride Capital and Belfair. He has a KDX 220. So far I prefer capital, Belfair is a little narrow in places and the tree roots can do a number on your wrists. I have also heard about maple valley, but have been cautioned about law enforcement ticketing people. Do you know of any other areas?

Yeh, we've ridden Belfair alittle, never at capital forest. As far as Maple Valley goes, you may be talking about the Ravensdale area. which we used to ride ALOT. But your right you need to be carefull out thier, mainly the BNR railroad police wanna get you becouse alot of the access goes through\ next to the tracks and BNR land. But if you know where to get in its still rideable. Thier is a ok area past the Ravensdale store couple miles before kangley the people park and can get in that seems to be legal. Were gong to the Oregon Dunes next week, Party On

Also, I've heard the valves don't need adj very often, but the dealers will tell you different to get your bike in thier shop!!

I would like to get more info on the Ravensdale area or meet up with you there sometime. Have fun in Oregon we went down about a month and a half ago to Winchester Bay and Florence and had a great time. As far as the valves go I believe they are supposed to be checked after the first 10-20 hours and then every 6 months there after. I will check them again in a year.
