All,

To say one quad is better than the other is very hard to say or test for that matter. I ride with lots of people in Alaska where the terrain is the most extreme. We have riders with all the big bores with exception of the new SP 800 & Outlander and it's fair to say that if one gets stuck we all will get stuck. No one has proved that their quad is superior over the other and believe me we have all tried. One of the biggest differences we have seen is the advantage of aftermarket tires.

When comparing quads there is one factor we have to remember and that is price. In stock form the Outlander & SP 800 "may" be better but when you take the money you would save by getting a KQ and use it for upgrades you have a very competitive quads IMO. Maybe the two would still be better but stick with Suzuki because they have been good to me for years.

Ok, we have a lot of folks praising the King, now let's talk price...I would pick up a new '05 King but I really like that army green '06....what do you think a new '06 would cost after a few months of being out.....like Nov or Dec?

Also, I really don't see a lot of changes between the '05 and the '06, am I wrong there?

I would say if you get any of these Big Bores stuck it woun't be because the wheels wern't spinning.LOL

Stocks I would say 6399.00 without tax would be a good price, Provided there is not a rebate program that would make them lower than that.

cc1999, and to just double check....you think that $6400 for an '06 King is feasable? I think you are talking about the '06, right? I think an '05 is closer to 6,000 even, right?

For the past year or so 6400.00 has been a good number for the 2005's, They may be cheaper now since the 05's are on there way out and the 06's are on there way in. I would say 6400 would still hold true for the 2006 models. The link I gave you to my Suki dealer has been selling the 05's for 6399.00 since they came out. He is now selling them for 6299.00 according to his web page. My dad paid 6400.00 for his in arkansas, I know 3 other guys that bought kings in arkansas for 6400.00 this past year. The quad list for a 100.00 more than last year 7199.00 vs 7299.00 for 2006. The reason I would beleive they will still be going for around 6400.00 is that its now a carryover quad rather than the new latest and greatest. Plus based on what I have seen in the past from my dealer, he had 6400.00 on the Kings when they first came out and now he has them at 6299.00. He sells everything at volume discount prices. Now that demand is weekening I would bet he holds the line at 6399.00 for his 2006's.

cc1999, thanks! As you said, the '06 King, isn't the latest and greatest anymore...and from what I read I really don't see many changes from the '05 to the '06 do you or does anyone else? That tells me that at least Suzuki is happy with it....kind of like Honda with their Rincon...

Other than color choices, I do not know of any changes. There were some mid year changes that corrected the reverse failure issues, and I herd they made some minor improvements on the hesitation issues all mid year 05. If you buy an 06' you should be good to go. I had herd the older units depending on serial number could still have the problems, since suki was only fixing them on a case by case bases (after it breaks and the customer is pi$$ed kinda deal).

The Rincon you can almost count on something being changed. Honda will typicaly release there unchanged models first, and follow it up with the changed products later. The Rubicon is a prime example from last year, the Rincon and several others were out early, later followed by the new improved Rubi Ie, switchable 4x4 and few other improvements. I would say the Rincon that is coming has improvements. If I was to take a guess its getting bumped up to a 700 with a very slight chance of an EFI on it. That is my best guess. I have herd you say several times how much you like Honda. I would wait a month and see what your choices are for sure. You can count on about any ATV taking a pretty good hit when you drive it off the showroom floor. I hate to see anyone not get what they really want the first time around.

cc1999, yep....I too want to make sure that I get the "perfect" quad for me. It will be interesting to see what Honda does with the Rincon and if they do bump it to 700 and a possible EFI...then do the add better engine braking....also, do they keep the already HIGH ENOUGH price under 8,000. We will see....if not, and I know you have heard me say this....then a KQ looks good at less than 6500 ou the door.

Even with the family friend and knowing I would get a good deal, I still aren't sure about going the Kawasaki route with a BF 650, 750, or a Prairie 700...they are not my first choice.

We will see what Sept brings......I for one, can't wait!
