On my DRZ dirt bike I always had it hooked up to a battery tender and in doing so this would always assure a fully charged battery and seemed to extend the life of the battery. The battery on the dirt bike was fairly small in size. Is this something I should be doing on the KQ as well.

 

Depends on how often its used. If it sits for long streches, it certainly cant hurt to run the tender. You could hook it up for 1/2 month on each, and that should be good enough, no need to buy another one.
